American Goulash


1 lb lean ground beef (80/20) 

1 medium green pepper, chopped 

15-oz can of tomato sauce 

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni

1 large yellow onion, chopped

15-oz can of diced tomatoes

1 tsp minced garlic


Cook and stir ground beef in large skillet, breaking meat up until it begins to brown. Skim off excess fat and stir in chopped onion, chopped green pepper and minced garlic. Cook and stir mixture until onions soften, about 10 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook macaroni separately and then add to mixture.
