Baked Asparagus


  • 2 lbs asparagus spears, ends trimmed 
  • 12 slices of bacon (*optional)
  • ½ cup light brown sugar 
  • ½ cup butter 
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  •  ½ tsp garlic salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper


Preheat oven to 350ºF. Rinse and trim ends of spears. 

*If using bacon, wrap one slice of bacon around 3-4 spears. Place asparagus in baking dish; set aside. In medium saucepan combine remaining ingredients until boiling, stirring occasionally. Pour over spears in glass dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until spears have begun to soften or bacon has fully cooked. Wilted spears indicate they’re overdone.
